We all have a story, a unique story. If you stop to really think and digest how this country has grown and evolved, you will notice that it has changed a lot in the last 40 years. This country is the most fascinating in the world due to the infusion of various cultures.

I am the oldest of three children and the only son to Ben and Carmen Guerrero. I was born in Oakland, California and have resided in the East Bay all my life. At the tender age of 8, my father made a drastic and bold decision. He decided to sell all his personal assets, and return to Mexico and become a full time farmer. Crazy? Out of his mind? Sure, we thought all those things, especially now that I have my own children. However, it turned out to be a blessing for us. We lived in Mexico for two years and my sisters and I completely forgot the English language. We learned to read and write in Spanish, a skill that is very handy these days. We learned how to live on a farm and perform the daily duties. We learned how to work and how to be responsible at a very young age. Life was good. For two years, we lived a simple, but very peaceful life.

As time passed, my parents realized that they would not be able to provide us with a college education. We returned to California right after I turned 10 and my father went back to the occupation he had learned at a very young age, roofing. My father worked tirelessly for two years. He quickly realized that in order to be able to send us off to college, he needed to take the next step. My father took the next step and started a roofing business with a partner, George Acker. Acker & Guerrero Roof Company, Inc. was born in November 1990. The opportunity to run a business provided my sisters and me with a Catholic education all the way through to high school.

The 1st of many goals for my father came to fruition when I was admitted to Santa Clara University. It was a major milestone for my father. I was the first grandchild from both my mother and father’s family to step foot in a university. I never realized how important that was until I graduated four years later. The emotion my parents displayed the day of my graduation was the most emotion I had seen out of them all my life.

During my time at Santa Clara, I completely submerged myself in the values that the university prides itself in: Competence, Conscience, and Compassion. These values are my foundation as a husband, a father, a human being, and as a business owner.

After graduation, I decided to join my parents in the family business. I spent 13 fantastic years at Acker & Guerrero Roof Company, Inc. During this time I learned so much about the roofing industry, primarily through helping several hundred owners and property managers with their investments.

In 2004, I married my soul mate and best friend, Rosario. We created two amazingly funny children, Natalia who is 14, and Benjamin II who is 11. These three are the inspiration in my life and my biggest supporters. My life is complete!

Just like my father 31 years ago, I got the itch to run my own business. In December 2012, my dream became a reality. I started Ben’s Roofing, Inc. after failed attempts at buying out my father’s partner. My goal is no different than my father’s was in 1990. The opportunity to offer my children a college education is the biggest motivation for me personally.

We are all motivated by something or someone. Motivation is the single reason why we all get up every morning and do what we do. Unfortunately, not everyone is motivated to perform at their best. For some of us, work is just a necessity to live. For me, roofing is my passion. It is undoubtedly what I love to do and look forward to every morning. Roofing provides me the opportunity to solve problems in an honest manner. I can go to sleep every night knowing that I have provided my customer with the correct solution to their problem. How many of us can say that?

I guarantee that you will not find another contractor as eager as us to provide you with exceptional service, as honest to offer the best value, and as willing to perform the job right every time with integrity.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you with your roofing needs.

Ben's Roofing

Sincerely,
BEN’S ROOFING, INC.
